Born and raised in Southern California, Roger has been acting and singing since he was a kid. Gifted with a chameleon voice that can slip into almost any famous singer, he turned that talent into Faultline, a high-energy dance cover band that ruled rooms from 2004 to 2014. Night after night he jumped from James Brown to Bruno Mars and everything in between, matching the original artist’s vocals as closely as possible.

In late 2013 a close friend suggested he start a Huey Lewis & the News tribute. Roger knew almost nothing about the tribute world, but he jumped in anyway and taught himself every piece of the puzzle. That crash course became The Heart of Rock & Roll.

Today Roger is THoRR’s creative director. He owns the stage production, the marketing, and the media. He also keeps other band projects spinning and produces / hosts The Ultimate Tribute Band Podcast.

Born and raised in Southern California and playing multiple instruments from an early age, music has always been a part of Tony’s life. As owner and co-founder of The Heart of Rock & Roll, Tony holds down the guitar chair on stage while also running the financial and logistical engine that keeps the band rolling. Alongside his brother Roger, he’s laser-focused on delivering the most authentic, high-energy Huey Lewis & The News experience possible to tens of thousands of fans night after night.

A recent transplant to Tennessee, when he’s not on the road you’ll probably find him on a golf course somewhere.

Raised in San Diego, Steve started playing alto sax at age 7 and added percussion naturally, coming from a family of drummers. As a teenager he was already working the San Diego scene as both sideman and bandleader, playing with future Chicago bassist Jason Scheff and members of Fattburger before moving to Los Angeles in 1981.

In 1984 he fronted the Motown group JAKATA, beginning a long association with producer Steve Barri, and later appeared on Dave Mason’s Two Hearts alongside Stevie Winwood and Phoebe Snow. His 1998 solo album Dream Harvest featured Jeff Lorber and Abraham Laboriel. He then formed JANGO with keyboardist Steve Le Gassick; their 1999 album Dreamtown earned a Best New Artist nomination at the 2000 National Smooth Jazz Awards and a slot at the North Sea Jazz Festival, followed by later releases Closer to Home and Red Ray Dawn. A regular member of Lao Tizer’s band since 2001, Nieves has toured extensively with Loggins & Messina, Kenny Loggins, Clint Black, Olivia Newton-John and currently tours with Jim Messina. Now based in the Nashville area, he continues as a versatile sideman and session player on tenor and soprano sax, vocals, and percussion.

Steve is THoRR’s Vocal Music Director and handles horn arrangements for the THoRRn Section.

Mike has garnered a reputation as one of the most respected musicians, composers and guitar instructors in Nashville. Having honed his skills in the rich, musical breeding ground of the Boston area, he earned his B.M. in music education from Berklee College of Music and his M.M. in  performance from the University of Massachusetts. In addition, he spent five years under the tutelage of legendary jazz educator, Charlie Banacos (Mike Stern, Wayne Krantz, Jeff Berlin).

Mike has worked with many of the industry's most respected musicians, including Steve Vai, John Scofield, Billy Sheehan, Larry Coryell, Keith Carlock, Jeff Berlin and Kirk Covington. He is currently a member of the guitar faculty at Belmont University, where many of his former students have gone on to perform with some of the most well-known names in music. In addition to his sideman work in the Nashville area, Mike continues to push the parameters of modern jazz with his own project, The Mike Valeras Trio, which has released three independent albums and received notable press worldwide.

Originally from central Pennsylvania, Matt brings over 25 years of professional experience to the keyboards, having performed and recorded with artists such as Julio Iglesias, Billy Ray Cyrus, Matthew Morrison, Lauren Alaina, Natalie Grant, Collin Raye, Montell Jordan, John Berry, John Oates, and Keb' Mo'.

In addition to his music career, Matt is also a PMP-certified project manager. He lives in Nashville, TN with his wife, Leslie.

A seasoned tribute, wedding and corporate band performer, George’s live performances have taken him across the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Mexico. His credits include tribute acts celebrating Whitney Houston, Linda Ronstadt, Bryan Adams, Chicago and of course, Huey Lewis and the News.

Born into a musical family, Elwood taught himself bass in high school, later attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and finished at Ohio State University. In the 1990s, he moved to Nashville with his family and worked with many CCM artists, as well as country superstars like Shania Twain and Paul Brandt. He's also performed on the Grand Ole Opry, Prime Time Country, and the Canadian Country Music Association Awards. 

Fun Fact: While on tour in England in 1997, Elwood signed the condolence books for Princess Diana in Kensington Palace.
